Game Modes

Competitive

This is the classic Counter-Strike game mode that put the game on the map. Using traditional competitive Counter-Strike rules, two teams of five play in a best-of-30 match.

To increase their chances of success, players must buy armour, guns, defuse or rescue kits, and maintain their in-game economy. The match is won by the first team to win 16 rounds in either the Bomb Defusal or Hostage Rescue game modes.

Competitive provides players the opportunity to win and showcase special Skill Groups, starting with Silver 1 and advancing to The Global Elite. Join a match on your own or form a team and queue together for a match!

Wingman
In this 2v2 best-of-16 game mode on single bomb site maps, queue alone or with a pal. Players receive a Wingman-only Skill Group and play with the Competitive Bomb Defusal ruleset. Purchase guns, armor, and defuse kits in order to either plant or protect the blast!
Casual

If you want to play some Counter-Strike but don’t want to commit to a complete 30-round match, this is the game for you. In this drop-in, drop-out game mode, find a Casual match and play at your own pace.

In Casual mode, players are given armor and defusal kits by default, have a simplified economy, and team damage is disabled. Join a game and start learning the basics of CS:GO!

Deathmatch

This fast-paced Casual game mode encourages quick engagements by allowing instant respawns. Players have a limited amount of time after spawning to purchase weapons of their choice and engage the enemy.

Kills with various weapons are worth different amounts of points, and players will be awarded bonus points for achieving kills with specific weapons in the game. Respawn as soon as possible and return to the battle!

Arms Race

Arms Race is a gun-progression mode with instant respawning that is intended for close-quarters combat.

As they progress through the game, players receive new weapons immediately after recording a kill. Win the match by getting a kill with the final weapon, the golden knife!

Demolition

Demolition is a fast-paced game in which players take turns attacking and defending a single bombsite through a series of maps.

When a player registers a kill, they are immediately given a starting weapon and progress through a series of weapons. The more kills you get, the closer you’ll get to better weapons that will give your team an advantage, such as powerful sniper rifles!
